Ginger&Smart set their debut runway show at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week 2021

Ginger & Smart is a Australian fashion brand founded in 2002 by the Sydney-based sisters, Alexandra and Genevieve Smart, in which they combined their talents to build a strong fashion-lifestyle brand. With Alexandra’s creative business background as an editor and publisher for high-quality lifestyle magazines, combined with Genevieve’s years spent at the design helm of some of Australia’s most successful fashion businesses, their united industry knowledge covers every possibility for a successful and exciting fashion venture. Australian fashion label Ginger & Smart debuted their Resort 2022 collection at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week. Defined by the brand’s trademark graceful and silhouettes, pretty and cheerful prints, and diverse selection of colour schemes and hues, the runway show was said to be lovely and colorful.

The show called Luminesce, and it was aesthetically pleasing with its scheme of sorbet shades showcased on the runway.

The garments are soft and fluffy ruffles, layered gowns gathered with bulky balloon skirts and silky separates, all in a soothing shade of vanilla, sherbet, rose, and mint. The print appeared like a watercolours with pastel hues, completed in high-necked halter frocks and oversized bows.

Sister duo Alexandra and Genevieve Smart displayed the “transformative power of fashion,” and the dresses were designed with enthusiasm and expectation, the theme’s reapperance at this year’s AAFW.

Some dresses are attractive if you take a look at them, and then there are some that are engaging to wear. But for resort 2022, Ginger & Smart burnt that bridge with the collection of exclusively-made pieces for and designed by women.
